Project summary
Site-wide strategic design including refurbishment of existing student accommodation blocks, additional studio accommodation and two new standalone woodland pavilions providing communal amenity facilities.

The pavilions offer students a unique place to escape and connect with nature, promoting student wellbeing and enhancing the sense of community. The modularised timber structures were designed to delicately nestle within the existing woodland, minimising impacts on the tree canopies and roots, whilst mediating the topographic level changes of the site.

The pavilions were shortlisted for the AJ (Architects Journal) Architecture Awards 2023, for the best project in the UK under £500k.
